✓ 16 oz (1 lb) La Moderna® Cavatappi
✓ 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese (about 16 oz / 450 g)
✓ 4 cups milk (about 32 fl oz / 950 ml)
✓ 4 tbsp (¼ cup) butter
✓ 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
✓ Salt and pepper, to taste
✓ 8 slices cooked crispy bacon, chopped
✓ Bread crumbs for topping (optional)

Preparación
Cook the cavatappi:
Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot. Cook 16 oz (450 g) of La Moderna® Cavatappi according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Make the cheese sauce:
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir for 1–2 minutes until a smooth paste forms.
Add the milk:
Gradually pour in the milk, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and becomes creamy.
Add the cheese:
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Combine the pasta:
Add the cooked cavatappi to the cheese sauce and stir until evenly coated.
Add the bacon:
Gently fold in the crispy chopped bacon.
Optional: Bake it:
If desired, transfer the mixture to a baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F (180°C) for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
